Our new robust laser powder bed fusion platform comes in two sizes:

  • PANDA-6" -- 6.0" x 6.0" x 9.5" build envelope

  • PANDA-11" -- 11.0" x 11.0" x 12.5" build envelope

Open Layout:  Easy access for powder fills/swaps, plenty of room to mount sensors and custom mechanisms, and large windows for visual observation; all in a smart, compact footprint to save space on your lab or shop floor.

Lasers/Optics:  Systems use fiber lasers, scan heads, lenses, and windows from industry-leading vendors; laser can be tailored for specialty needs (500 W IPG air-cooled standard). All systems can be integrated with variable spot size control, multiple lasers, and laser diagnostics, as additional options. We can even integrate specialty lasers such as visible band lasers and subtractive pulsed lasers. And users can modify the lasers/optics train as needed.

Robust Design:  Our powder bed assembly is rugged; motors for spreader, supply, and build plate are suited for use with heavy powders and parts. Users may modify wiper blades, cross-bed flow control, sensors, etc., to meet their project needs.

Software:  Proven commercial-based software is user-friendly and runs on included Windows 10 workstation with perpetual license. The software is not limited to .stl model inputs, but allows .step, .dwg, .dxf, .igs, and more. It allows complete control of processing parameters and performs slicing and supports. We are also soon to rollout capability to import .cli/.sli files from third-party software. There is a wide range of preset hatching patterns to choose from, or you can make your own. You can select multiple hatch patterns each layer, and also separate hatch vs. contour parameters -- and all of these can be set individually for any layers you choose. Software allows integration and control of add-on hardware (e.g., sensors, mechanisms) and plug-ins also add capability to develop and perform feedback actions. All of this is available to users, or we can help code a recipe for your needs.


Materials:  Systems include no restrictions on materials or sources. We will provide processing parameters (loaded as 'recipes' in our software) and technical data for materials as available at no extra cost. Users can modify parameter sets and save/share these as their own recipes.


Sensors:  Optional multi-sensor integrated data collection suite (AMSENSE®) provides layer-by-layer data for R&D and process development, through a simple-to-use graphical interface. Users can import all raw data files into their own software tools for independent analysis, as desired.

Safety:  Sealed chamber includes inert gas ports and oxygen sensors for processing reactive powders. Safety interlocks and laser-safe enclosure allow for operation as Class 1 device per ANSI Z136.1.
